If you can laugh, you can sing!
Sing in the shower? Sing in the car?
Then sing with us...
The Freight & Salvage Women's Singing Circle!
Singing
in a circle is powerful. In a fun atmosphere, with no performance
pressure, join us as we delight in the joys of sound, in a supportive
space that encourages everyone to participate and stretch. Find your
voice in the context of a nurturing group if you are a beginner, and
build on your skills if you are comfortable singing but would love the
opportunity to gain more confidence to experiment vocally.
This course is for any women interested in learning more about singing. No previous musical experience is required.
- Back to the Basics!
- Learn wonderful warm-ups
- Relax your body while strengthening your singing
- Learn melodies and harmonies (and receive a songbook)
- Create simple improvisations

A
musician and educator, Tamsen Fynn has a strong background in many
styles of singing: from classical, jazz, and gospel, to rock, folk, and
children's music. While at Smith College she was the only woman to
showcase Mozart, Purcell, Copland, Ellington, Tuck & Patti, and
Sweet Honey in the Rock for a senior recital. A popular performer in the
Bay Area for the past 15 years, she co-founded Orange Sherbet in 2001.
Orange Sherbet plays tasty tunes for families with a touch of jazz &
funky, and lots of roots & folk.
Tamsen has also written,
recorded, produced, and released material for six cds; four with Orange
Sherbet, and two as an indie-folk singer/songwriter. She loves working
in women's circles and belongs to a women's entrepreneur group and a
writing workshop.
