Immerse yourself in the style as you play songs beloved by jazz singers. Build chord vocabulary and articulate the swing triplet to get in the groove. We’ll tackle the mechanics of playing swing guitar with special attention to changing chords efficiently, getting good tone and driving the rhythm. Themes for this session: Songs about fall and Christmastime jazz songs.

Sylvia Herold has taught guitar and song repertoire for more than 20 years. Her performance credits include Cats & Jammers, Wake the Dead, Euphonia, The Hot Club of San Francisco and Sylvia Herold and the Rhythm Bugs.
