Top songwriter Steve Seskin joins forces with fresh new songwriting talent Liz Longley for an "in-the-round" evening of hearth-tugging music.
An inspiring performer and one of today’s most successful songwriters, Steve has been a Freight favorite since the 1970s. A New York native and graduate of the city’s famous High School of Performing Arts, he currently resides in Richmond, CA. While Steve’s songs—an eclectic blend of humor and pathos, love songs and looney tunes—have been covered by scores of famed artists (John Michael Montgomery, Waylon Jennings, and Tim McGraw, to name but a few), there is nothing like seeing Steve cast his spell in live performance. In addition to his career as a top songwriter, Steve has also seen his song "Don’t Laugh at Me" (co-written with Allen Shamblin) inspire the development of a character and anti-bullying education curriculum in thousands of elementary schools across the country.
After graduating from Boston’s Berklee College of Music, Liz soon relocated to Nashville and began assembling an impressive resume. Thanks to her accomplished songwriting and amazing, stop-you-in-your-tracks voice, Liz won top prizes at some of the most prestigious songwriting competitions in the past year: the BMI John Lennon Songwriting Scholarship Competition, the International Acoustic Music Awards, and the Chris Austin Songwriting Contest. She was also nominated as Sirius XM Radio’s 2011 Singer/Songwriter Discovery of the Year.
