From Bjørk to bossa nova, Mozart to Megadeth, Squid, Inc. rules the airwaves. The hottest string quartet on the Bay Area scene plays covers and original tunes in a sassy blend of grunge classical meets rock-n-roll. A Freight favorite; bring your tatooed boyfriend to this one. With Hrabba Atladottir and Jory Fankuchen, violins; Darcy Rindt, viola; Beth Vandervennet, cello; and an occasional rapper.

Classical at the Freight brings in some of the Bay Area’s best classical musicians for an hour of outstanding chamber music in an informal, friendly atmosphere. San Francisco Chamber Orchestra music director Ben Simon hosts. There’s no stuffiness, no mystification, just an invigorating evening with gifted musicians sharing the beauty and joy of this timeless art with new audiences of all ages.
