An evening of lush, evocative music awaits as the
Real Vocal String Quartet celebrates the release of its new, eponymous album. Offering an inventive, globally infused take on chamber music, the group combines the magical textures of a string quartet with folk and pop influenced women's vocals.

Founded in 2003 by Irene Sazer, a premier San Francisco violinist/composer/arranger/vocalist and an original member of the famed Turtle Island String Quartet, the ensemble offers a stirring mix of re-vamped classics and genre-hopping originals. RVSQ's spine-tingling vocal and instrumental harmony and fearless, inspired improvisation weave a web of original acoustic music travelling from hypnotic West African songs and Brazilian choros to American string band music and Irish fiddle tunes.

Joining the diversely talented Irene are violinist and violist Dina Maccabee (Aurora Septet, Charming Hostess), cellist Jessica Ivry (Shotgun Wedding), and violinist Alisa Rose (A.J. Roach, Homespun Rowdy).
