Musician, composer, producer, Patrick Landeza is considered a leading exponent of ki ho'alu, the Hawaiian slack key style, carrying on the unique fingerpicking method developed in the 19th century by Hawaiian cowboys who loosened their guitar strings (or "slacked" them) for a lower, more resonant sound. Born and raised in Berkeley to Hawaii-born parents, Patrick picked up guitar while in high school and cultivated his craft by studying slack key from masters like George Kuo and the late Ray Kane and Sonny Chillingworth. Today, Patrick is regarded as one of the top slack key performers, and is the Bay Area's own slack key master.

Tonight, Patrick celebrates the release of his highly anticipated new CD, Ku`u Honua Mele, on his own label, Addison Street Records. Full of surprises, the album embodies Patrick's life work: "It's traditional Hawaiian music with a Berkeley twist," he says.

Patrick is joined on stage by ukulele icon, Herb Ohta, Jr, Hawaiian guitarist extraordinaire Asa Young. and Hawaii's steel guitar sensation Jeff Au Hoy. Accompanied by hula and brimming with the spirit of aloha, this is a show not to miss!
