The future of jazz looks exciting tonight, as three youthful Jazzschool groups show off their chops in celebration of their 2010 Student Award wins from Downbeat magazine! The concert features Advanced High School Jazz Ensemble I directed by Michael Zilber (winner: Outstanding Performance by a Jazz Soloist, Jill Ryan; co-winner for Outstanding HS Jazz Group), Advanced High School Jazz Ensemble II directed by Erik Jekabson (co-winner for Outstanding HS Jazz Group) and the Jazzschool Monday Night Studio Band directed by Keith Johnson (winner: Outstanding Large Jazz Ensemble).
