| Join us for an evening of performances by two top Jazzschool Institute groups!
The Jazzschool Insitute Jazz Orchestra, under the direction of
Keith Johnson, is dedicated to hard-swinging classic and cutting-edge
contemporary big band music. A traditional big band format, the ensemble
is comprised of a rhythm section (piano, bass, drums, guitar) and a
horn section with up to twelve students.
Under the direction of Grammy-nominated pianist and composer Art Lande,
the Improvised Music Ensemble explores the realm of free improvisation,
focusing on communication between musicians and the creation of
meaningful compositional structure in the moment. This group features
Madison Bohrer (sax), Ruthie Dineen (piano), Yehudit Lieberman (electric
violin), Dillon Vado (drums and vibes), and Art Lande (melodica and
percussion).
