Traditional Irish music for fingerstyle guitar. This seminar will cover arrangements that range from intermediate to fairly advanced, depending on the students' preferences. Use of alternate tunings will be discussed, but the focus will be on standard and drop-D. The tunes will help students with various right and left hand techniques, but are also just great tunes!Enrich your playing and repertoire with the assistance of one of the most highly regarded fingerstyle guitarists of his generation. In this workshop, Duck will present one or two dance tunes as well as a tune by the great harpist/composer, Turlough O Carolan. Approaches for arranging the music will also be discussed.

*This workshop is for intermediate to advanced level guitarists.

Duck Baker has appeared on 50 recordings, including 20 under his own name, playing in a wide variety of styles, from Celtic to American old-time to blues, ragtime, gospel and jazz. Duck's 1980 recording, "The Kid on the Mountain," was the first solo guitar record devoted to Irish music, and is still considered a classic. Baker remains active in the UK Irish scene, touring regularly with the trio, The Expatriate Game and with the renowned singer, Helen Roche.
