We'll learn cool tunes and songs, exploring double stops, position shifts up the neck, chord voicing choices, and cross-picking patterns, as well as ideas and approaches for improvisation.

Flatpicker Eric Thompson has been a fixture of the Bay Area acoustic music scene for half a century. While most noted for his guitar work, he's brought his strong, soulful mandolin picking to a wide stylistic array of bands, including Blue Flame Stringband, Bluegrass Intentions, Todalo Shakers, Kleptograss, and most recently, Blue Diamond Strings. He loves to teach, and has been on faculty at many music camps, most recently Walker Creek.
