This
course is for anyone just starting out on guitar. No prior knowledge of
guitar or previous musical experience is required. It covers important
basics that will be applicable to any future guitar study, regardless of
style. This includes learning chords from a diagram and using a tuner.
In this class, students will learn to:
- Play two songs using chords and correct strumming technique
- Switch chords smoothly
- Read music on the guitar on the top three strings in first position
- Improvise a guitar solo using the most popular scale
Required for the class: a guitar, an electronic tuner, a pick, Alfred's Basic Guitar Method 1

Gabriel
Olin has been teaching popular styles of guitar since 1990. His method
focuses on strong foundations, good technique and helping each student
