Ever since the first Freight Goes British, BIN Productions has brought a fresh theme to each year's show. This year The Freight Goes British Revue #5 features the music of the supergroup Cream. Each band will play three songs from the Cream catalogue along with their own tunes.

Get your groove on for a trip back in time with tonight’s tour guides, The RaveUps. As a tribute the The Yardbirds, they are unparalleled. The Yardbirds was Erics Clapton's first group before moving on to form Cream. RaveUps lead guitarist Chris Solberg has played with Santana, Eddie Money, and Chris Isaak. Donn Spindt on drums is a long time member of Berkeley's own Rubinoo's. The band also features Kit Newkirk on bass, Bob Lewis on rhythm guitar, and Dave Seabury on harmonica and vocals.

Girl Named TSan Francisco’s Theresa Sawi is the Girl Named T. She’s only 23, she has a great new album called Wait by the Rabbit Hole, and one of her songs, “Raven Fly,” was featured on the MTV show Awkward. This led to an interview on All Things Considered, and things are looking pretty good for this multi-talented musician who sings with a great combination of lightness and authority. She’s a big fan of Carole King and Smokey Robinson, as well as British pop music of the 60s.

The BlondiesThe Blondies are five teenagers from Berkeley and Oakland, all under 18, all inspired by the music of the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, and the Kinks. With Simon Lunche on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Frank Klopotowski on bass, Zak Meghrouni-Brown on guitar, Jerry Feist on keyboards, and Paul Davis on drums, the band serves up catchy originals and tasty covers of the classics.

The RaveUpsThe Whitecliff Rangers are a crew of lifelong musicians who share a passion for the music of the 60s British invasion. With brothers Robb and Bart Scott, and Jim Black, the band plays early Rolling Stones and other British devotees of American blues & pop.

The Berkeley Blues Coalition makes their Freight debut tonight, with Celeste Kopel on lead vocals, Nathan Phillips on lead guitar, Billy Dunaway on rhythm guitar, Jerry Fowler on drums, and the RaveUps’ Kit Newkirk on bass.  The band pays tribute to bluesy classic rock – think Cream, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix – and contemporary blues artists.
