Come on out and jug till you can jug no more! This all-day all-jug band extravaganza features two separate concerts, two workshops, and more hand-made, home-grown music than you can shake a gut-bucket at!

The evening show features Maria Muldaur & Her Garden of Joy Jug Band, Quinn Deveaux & the Juggy Tubsters, and Kally Price.

Unparalleled interpreter of americana music since long before that genre even had a name, Maria Muldaur has spent over four decades unleashing her soulful vocals on a dizzying range of songs. From her early days in the Jim Kweskin Jug Band through her deep explorations of New Orleans jazz, Western swing, gospel, country blues, and more, Maria's sultry voice has brought back into the spotlight some of the finest roots music around. The recipient of three Grammy nominations, Maria has recently returned to her roots, reuniting with some of her former jug band mates to regale listeners with tunes from the classic jug band era of the early 1930's. Maria's performances are simply not to be missed: part infectious fun, part down-home revival, and part deeply satisfying antidote to contemporary mass media culture.

Oakland-based Quinn DeVeaux has been making a name for himself around town recently with his concentrated potion of soul, folk songs, backwater blues, and quirky originals. Tonight, backed by the Juggy Tubsters, Quinn brings a version of his genre-spanning "old stories told in a new way" that digs deep into America's rich musical grassroots, with a groove that promises to "keep the people in a state of joy."

Kally Price and her band have been helping to keep popular and obscure blues and jazz songs from 1930's and '40s alive in the Bay Area for the past few years. In the words of the San Francisco Weekly, "Memphis Minnie, Bessie Smith and their peers seem to sing through this tiny, unpretentious woman's throat. Do you believe in reincarnation?"
