In this class, we will learn tunes from various fiddle traditions including but not limited to Celtic, Old Time, and Bluegrass. We’ll delve into the melodies and chords of the tunes, exploring different ways we can bring the two together as a group of fiddlers. You’ll want to have some experience on the instrument, but the tunes will be accessible to people who haven’t been playing for too long. The class is designed for budding fiddlers who want to learn more tunes and more ways to play them or people who are starting from a classical background who want to try their hand at some fiddle.

Leah Wollenberg has been playing fiddle since she was six years old. She has performed in venues in the Bay Area and around the world, from the Freight and Salvage to the Savannah Music Festival in Georgia to the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland. She has taught at the summer camp Fiddlekids since 2007, and has taught privately in the Bay Area and Ohio. On top of her fiddle music, she studies jazz at Oberlin College.
