Antsy McLain & the Trailer Park Troubadours have been around. You can tell from the newspapers that have enthusiastically reviewed their shows. “With musical influences ranging from Woodie Guthrie to Waylon Jennings to Van Halen to Cake, one can’t help but be intrigued by their lively, colorful songs of life in America’s most forgotten neighborhood – the trailer park,” says The Desert Advocate of Phoenix, Arizona. “Antsy McClain raises the standard of trailer park culture, seeing the lifestyle as an extension of America’s pioneer spirit,” says The Express Times of Easton, Pennsylvania. The Good Times Weekly of Santa Cruz puts it this way: “A master of imagery, Antsy encircles you with Pintos, mosquito bites, corn dogs smothered in Velveeta, flamingo lawn ornaments, and small town carnivals, leaving you little time to switch from recklessly doing the twist to crying in your beer.”

In 1999, after a Nashville recording deal didn’t quite work out to Antsy’s liking, he took his show on the road, and has since recorded a dozen albums, with featured guests including guitar wizard Tommy Emmanuel and Fleetwood Mac’s Lindsay Buckingham. His live show recreates the mythical Pine View Heights trailer park and its larger than life inhabitants. Antsy doesn’t look down on these folks – it’s more like he peeks through their windows, then knocks on their doors and shares a six-pack or two. The music is a catchy mix of country, rockabilly, jazz, and swing. “It Ain’t Home Til You Take the Wheels Off,” according to Antsy, but even without wheels, you’re sure to enjoy the ride!
