Join Kathy Kallick for an amazing evening showcasing the debut of americana's next chapter! The famed songstress and California Bluegrass Association Lifetime Achievement Award winner hosts tonight's lineup of tasty solo sets by four great up-and-coming singer-songwriters: Cyndi Harvell, Dan Booth, Jenna Bean Veatch, and Rhys Conger.

Cyndi Harvell's songs are classic heart-on-sleeve tunes—part americana, part pop, part folk—defying any one specific genre, but appealing to all. She appeared at the 2008 Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, was included on KFOG's Local Music Compilation, and has been played on radio programs across the U.S. and Europe. In the words of the San Diego Troubadour, "Harvell sounds like the real deal, unpasteurized, untreated with rBST, and able to hit those notes spot on without those recording studio gimmicks."

Dan Booth has been playing (acoustic bass, mandolin, guitar) and singing (mostly bluegrass) for half of his 28 years. Born and raised in Alaska, Dan performed with Ginger Boatwright, Bearfoot Bluegrass, and several regional groups. Since relocating to the Bay Area, Dan has become a vital part of 49 Special, Homespun Rowdy, and the Kathy Kallick Band.

Witty, clever songs are performed with heart and ukulele by Jenna Bean Veatch, accompanied by Claytie Mason. Once accused of creating "pure, unadulterated, heart-stopping whimsy," Jenna has, at various times, taken on the roles of choreographer, performance artist, ukulele songstress, magical fairy, anti-war dance demonstration organizer, and Marshmallow Peep. Tonight she'll be wearing the hat of excellent singer-songwriter.

A senior at Berkeley's Maybeck High School, Rhys Conger performs piano folk-rock that is emotive, deep, and immediately accessible. His distinctive original songs are influenced by a broad spectrum of folks, including Bright Eyes, Two Gallants, Death Cab For Cutie, Coldplay, Feist, Leonard Cohen, and Too $hort.
