Honolulu native Weldon Kekauoha grew up in a house filled with music, listening to old recordings from the 1950's and 60's and attending live performances at local watering holes with his grandmother. Folks like Weldon's uncle, "Little-Joe" Kekauoha, the Makaha Sons of Ni‘ihau, and Kekua Fernandez left an indelible mark on Weldon's own music. Beginning in his high school years in the mid-1980's, Weldon joined a series of bands, including Na Kane Pono and the progressive reggae group The Mana‘o Company, as well as playing at the ‘Ilikai Hotel three to five nights a week.

His first CD, Hawaiian Man (1995) established Weldon as a versatile, traditional Hawaiian solo artist, and won him Most Promising Artist at the 2000 Na Hoku Hanohano Awards (the "Hawaiian Grammies"). This was followed by several more hit albums, including Spread a Little Aloha (with The Manao Company) and his recent solo CD, Ka Lehua ‘Ula, which have firmly established Weldon's place within the Hawaiian music community.

Special guest Mahealani Uchiyama, who studied extensively with one of Hawai'i's most honored hula masters, Joseph Kamoha'i Kaha'ulelio, brings to the stage her KaUaTuahine Polynesian Dance Company.
