Topping off a weekend symposium on improvisational music at UC Berkeley’s Department of Music, a collection of artists at the cutting edge of improvisation, representing musical traditions from around the world, will present a concert at the Freight, hosted by Myra Melford, a renowned pianist and composer as well as a Berkeley professor. Artists include Ben Brinner, Edmund Campion, Lisa Gold, Miya Masaoka, Midyanto, Nicole Mitchell, Roscoe Mitchell, Heni Savitri, Ken Ueno, and David Wessel.
