Join us for this fabulous and festive, multi-faceted concert, with proceeds benefiting the beloved circus and performing arts camp, Camp Winnarainbow. With His Eminence of Clowndom, camp founder Wavy Gravy as host, the show features Jonathan Richman, the Barry Melton Band, with special guest Nick Gravenites!

Camp Winnarainbow provides a training ground to nurture leaders for a peaceful, harmonious, and sustainable world through its summer programs for youth and adults, encouraging respect for oneself, others, and the environment while valuing the uniqueness of each individual. Drawing from the world of circus and theatrical arts, the camp teaches timing, balance, and a sense of humor, encouraging skills mastery and personal growth and honoring the creative spirit of each child in a supportive atmosphere.

Wavy Gravy (he got his moniker from B.B. King at the Texas International Pop Festival in 1969) inspires both laughter and reflection in his multifaceted roles as clown, prankster, and activist for peace. The founder of Camp Winnarainbow, the Seva Foundation, and the Hog Farm, an activist commune, Wavy was also the official clown of the Grateful Dead. Ripple Effect Films released a major documentary on his life, Saint Misbehavin': The Wavy Gravy Story, in 2010.

Jonathan Richman, founder of the proto-punk band the Modern Lovers, has built a remarkably loyal international audience through his tireless touring. His deceptively straightforward songs embody timeless qualities of humanity, emotional insight and a boundless sense of humor, untainted by cynicism or transient notions of hipness.

Co-founder of Country Joe and the Fish, guitarist, singer, and songwriter Barry "The Fish" Melton is also a founding member of The Dinosaurs, a Bay Area psychedelic supergroup of 1960s musical veterans. Barry works as a criminal defense lawyer, including a stint as the Public Defender of Yolo County, but he has also remained active on the music scene. His band features bassist Peter Albin (Big Brother and the Holding Company), guitarist Michael Hinton (Merl Saunders Band), drummer Roy Blumenfeld (The Blues Project), and Banana (Youngbloods) on keyboards and vocals.

As a singer, songwriter, guitarist, and producer, Chicago-born Nick Gravenites worked with many of the biggest names in blues and rock music. He wrote tunes for Janis Joplin, Pure Prairie League, and blues giants Howlin' Wolf, Otis Rush, and James Cotton, as well as working with Big Brother and the Holding Company, The Paul Butterfield Blues Band, John Cipollina and Quicksilver Messenger Service, and many others. All told, Nick appears on some 40 albums as singer, songwriter, guitarist, and producer.
