Tom is the subject of a film, Tom Rush: No Regrets, which was chosen as the Documentary Film of the Year at the New Hampshire Film Festival. It features interviews with Tom and James Taylor, as well as musical cameos from David Bromberg, Jonathan Edwards, and Dom Flemons of the Carolina Chocolate Drops. Tom is great on film, but he’s even better in person. His expressive voice and distinctive guitar style, his funny stories and classic songs, from sweet ballads to gritty blues, deliver not only a vivid self-portrait, but a portrait of where folk music has come from and where it’s headed.

Tom Rush started his musical career in Boston half a century ago and quickly established himself on the folk scene. Rolling Stone magazine has credited his 1965 album Circle Game with ushering in the singer-songwriter era. He introduced countless listeners to the music of Joni Mitchell, Jackson Browne, and James Taylor, and later in his career he brought attention to emerging artists like Nanci Griffith and Shawn Colvin, while recording more than 20 albums and eventually becoming a YouTube sensation with more than five million hits on his “Remember Song.”
