Last seen raisin a ruckus in the January edition of Dr. K's Homegrown
Roots Revue, Three at Last and Family Lines return for a command
performance of harmony-rich americana/folk music.
Intelligent
songwriting, lush vocal harmonies, and tasty multi-instrumentalism mark
the folk music presented by Three at Last, a trio of singer-songwriters
whose topics veer from social commentary to modern relationships to
complete silliness. With a sound rooted in American folk and rock
traditions, they aim to push the blend of classic and current into rich
new realms. Three at Last features Anita Sandwina (vocals, guitar,
mandolin, violin); Ginger Parish (vocals, guitar, percussion, harmonica,
recorder); and Velvy Appleton (guitar, vocals, bass).
The trio Family Lines performs outstanding original music as well as folk, blues, and roots favorites. This acoustic family trio features songwriter and singer Tim McDonald, distinctive vocalist Susan Nielsen, and string master Ken Frankel blending their voices in beautiful harmony in a repertoire extending from Bob Dylan's "Wagon Wheel" to Gillian Welch's "Tear My Stillhouse Down".
