Suzie Glaze & the Hilonesome BandReturning to the Freight after last year's dynamic debut, Susie Glaze & The Hilonesome Band promise a gorgeous, eclectic evening of music blending mountain folk and exciting new bluegrass-inspired originals, powered along with Susie's high octane voice.

Hearth Music compares Susie, a Broadway actress, to another native Tennessean, calling her, "Dolly Parton without makeup or glitz, soaring on the high notes like a mountain bluebird." Her talents are matched by the Hilonesome Band, comprised of Steve Rankin on mandolin, Rob Carlson on guitar and dobro, Fred Sanders on bass and Mark Indictor on fiddle.

Tonight the band features mountain standards from Jean Ritchie, the songs of Gillian Welch and Steve Earle, and originals from their most recent release, Live from the Freight & Salvage. The CBA "Breakdown" says of Live at the Freight: "With her band the Hilonesome, her strong heartfelt voice makes each song an engaging story worthy of listening and savoring . . . Susie Glaze and HiLonesome may be based in California, but this album shows they're ready to take over the country!"

Their special guest is five-string banjo life force Bill Evans. As a performer, teacher, writer and composer, he brings deep knowledge, intense virtuosity and contagious passion to all things banjo. Bill's music careers spans over thirty-five years and includes thousands of music fans and banjo students from all over the world. Bill and Susie will be presenting a special mini-set mid-show of Old Time and Bluegrass classics for voice and banjo.
