The Subdudes are “no ordinary band,” says the website AllMusic, praising their “relaxed groove,” “earthy harmonies,” and “impassioned vocal performances.” About.com describes the band this way: “If you haven't heard the Subdudes before, imagine the hottest, most humid day you can think of. You're sitting on the edge of the Mississippi River, two-thirds of the way through a daiquiri, and there's just something in the air that makes you want to get up and groove.” The band’s soulful, joyous sound captures the fun and funk of their native New Orleans.

The Subdudes came together in the late 1980s, after backing such artists as Joni Mitchell and Roseanne Cash. They’ve released 11 albums, and been featured on the HBO series Treme. With Tommy Malone on guitar, John Magnie on accordion, Steve Amedée on tambourine and other percussion, and Tim Cook on bass, these guys know how to let the good times roll!
