Taking their name from Lead Belly’s classic blues for freedom and redemption, Silver City Bound’s mission is to promote cross-cultural dialogue and collaboration through American roots music. With soulful harmonies and award-winning songs, the band has rock and rolled from sold-out shows at Lincoln Center to concert halls, iconic dive bars and major festivals in twenty-six states and eight countries. And they’re just getting started.

Based in New York City, Silver City Bound (formerly The Amigos) is the result of a unique artistic partnership between accordionist and keyboardist/vocalist Sam Reider and guitarist/vocalist Justin Poindexter. The band has become well-known for representing American roots music in collaborations with artists all around the world, and has performed or recorded with Amy Helm, Jim Lauderdale, Sam Bush, Jon Batiste and Stay Human, Pete Seeger, David Amram, Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Dom Flemons, The Branchettes, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Paper Bird, Tom Chapin, Peter Yarrow, Holly Near, Ranger Doug, The Time Jumpers featuring Vince Gill, Nellie McKay, and Marcus Printup.
