Sierra HullA fleet-fingered mandolin player and a tender, wistful vocalist, the youthful Sierra Hull impresses with her fluid, inventive playing and her broad stylistic range. From boundary-hopping newgrass instrumentals to pop-flavored ballads to playful bluegrass numbers, Sierra's blend of originals and classics has won her a growing following and prestigious gigs at Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the National Prayer Breakfast. The International Bluegrass Music Association nominated her for Emerging Artist of the Year and Mandolin Player of the Year on the strength of her new CD, Daybreak (Rounder).

A fresh, important new voice in the contemporary bluegrass scene when she released her 2008 debut album, Secrets (Rounder), at age 16. She then put her touring career on hold to attend Berklee College of Music, where she was the first bluegrass musician to receive that school's most prestigious award, the Presidential Scholarship. Now that she has completed her formal music studies, Sierra has emerged as a full-fledged virtuosic bluegrass-based instrumentalist, vocalist, and songwriter.

Sierra is backed tonight by an awesome band, featuring Jacob Eller on upright bass, Clay Hess on guitar and vocals, and fiddler Christian Ward.
