Rudy Trubitt and Hiram Bell grew up in the next-door valleys of Manoa and Palolo on the island of Oahu. They met when hired as musicians for a children's music show. Although the gig was fun, the promoter never paid the band! Despite this early setback, the two persevered, reviving their musical partnership when they found themselves both living in the Bay Area.  They've been playing together on and off for nearly 20 years.

Both appear regularly at The Freight. Rudy hosts The Patchwork  Series, while Bell teaches beginner and intermediate ukulele classes.  They'll combine their considerable talents (guitar, ukulele, harmonica, porch-board and more) in an engaging, interactive performance for young and old alike.
