For the past 30-odd years Roy Book Binder has traveled the world as a "keeper of the flame" and ambassador of the blues. One of the finest guitar finger pickers extant, "Book" performs an eclectic repertoire encompassing blues, country tunes, bluegrass, and folk. Says guitarist Jorma Kaukonen (Hot Tuna, Jefferson Starship), "Nobody writes in the idiom better than Roy Book Binder. He is a master player, singer, writer, and teller of tales, true tales. He wrote "The Preacher Picked the Guitar" and passed it on to me. It is an honor."

On his long musical journey (much of it spent in a motorhome), Book toured and studied with blues great Reverend Gary Davis, performed with bluesmen like Homesick James and Pink Anderson, played old-time hillbilly blues as a regular on the Nashville Network, and appeared as headliner at the National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough, Tennessee. His latest album, Live at the Fur Peace Station, captures his spirited performances, full of stories, laughs, and plenty of great pickin'.
