Rocky Mountain Jewgrass plays bluegrass with a Jewish twist. Their quirky originals and clever covers include songs like “Jews Don’t Camp,” “Thank G-d I’m a Jewish Boy,” and a catchy bluegrass version of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah.” With Saul Rosenthal on guitar, Ben Cohen on banjo and mandolin, Gail deVore on fiddle and washboard, and Eric Roberts on bass, the band blends nifty musicianship with high lonesome chutzpah. They first played together at a Denver synagogue, and have gone on to release three albums, Chutzpah, Bupkes, and Enough Already.
