"Our goal has always been to spend our lives making music," say Robin and Linda Williams, and for over three decades, this husband-and-wife duo have done just that, from the Grand Ole Opry to Garrison Keillor's A Prairie Home Companion radio show, not to mention the Robert Altman film of the same name. With Robin on guitar and Linda on clawhammer banjo and gui- tar, the pair perform a polished, irresistible blend of bluegrass, traditional mountain folk ballads, Southern gospel, and acoustic country.

Based in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley, Robin and Linda have their roots- geographical and musical-deep in the rich heritage that claims Jimmie Rodgers and the Carter Family. Both their classic interpretations and origi- nal tunes are beautifully crafted, combining impeccable musical discipline with a sensibility that drinks deep from the reservoir of tradition, as on their new album, Buena Vista (Red House).

In the words of David Johnson of The Boston Globe, "Among contemporary country performers, Robin and Linda Williams shine like a diamond amid rhinestones. Their sound is so sincere as to give the listener chills."
