Host Patrick Landeza invites you to a magical Hawaiian party featuring the sparkling, gifted Hawaiian vocalist Raiatea Helm and music and dancing from special guests Kawika Alfiche and Hula Halau.

Coming from the tiny island of Moloka‘i Raiatea Mokihana Maile Helm made history in 2006 at age 21 as Hawai‘i's first Grammy-nominated solo female vocalist. At that time, the New York Times described Raiatea as singing "in the high-voiced throwback leo ki‘eki‘e style without a hint of kitsch." Her second album, Sweet and Lovely is poised and utterly elegant." As versatile as she is talented, Raiatea superbly interprets both Hawaiian and jazz styles, and has collaborated with legends of Hawaiian music including The Brothers Cazimero, The Makaha Sons, and Ledward Ka‘apana. Raitea makes her Freight debut with the able backing of master slack-key guitarist Sonny Lim and guitar, ukulele, and bass player Wailau Ryder.

Tonight Kumu (Hula teacher)/singer/songwriter Kawika Keikiali'i Alfiche performs songs from his 2011 album Kale'a, a compilation of original Hawaiian mele (traditional songs). Kawika is the Kumu for Halau Hula (dance group) and Director for the Kaululehua Hawaiian Cultural Center.
