The Rock CollectionIt’s a party, and you’re invited for this gala night of rockin’ music, comedy, and a silent auction in celebration of Earth Island Institute's 30th anniversary. Lending their talents to this benefit show are the Rock Collection, comedian Will Durst, psychedelic rockers Whiskerman, and other special guests.

Headliner The Rock Collection is a recent project of Mark Karan (vocals, guitar) and Robin Sylvester (bass) of Rat Dog, Lebo (guitar, vocals) of ALO, and drummer Greg Anton of Zero and Cast of Clowns. This delightfully vibrant blend of inventive musicians dishes out a tasty blend of original material and favorites from their other bands.

Will DurstPresenting "comedy for people who read, or know someone who does," Will makes a point of puncturing the pomposity of sacred cows on both sides of the aisle. A five-time Emmy nominee and a regular commentator for audible.com, Air America, CNN, and NPR, Will is as current as today's headlines, as accurate as a sniper, and in the words of the New York Times, "quite possibly the best political satirist working in the country today."

WhiskermanOakland-based Whiskerman is a Frankenstein-like fusion of a simple folk backbone, rich classical core, wide-stretching art-rock limbs, and big jazz feet. At the head of this high-energy band, Graham Patzner wildly wields guitar, violin, piano, and a voice that's both powerful and vulnerable.  He is backed by Lewis Patzner on cello and trombone, singer and keyboardist Madeline Streicek, bassist Will Lawrence, and drummer Nicholas Cobbett.

John TrudellJohn Trudell is an acclaimed poet, national recording artist, actor and activist whose latest double album, Madness & The Moremes, showcases more than five years of new music and including favorite Trudell tunes made with  Kiowa guitarist Jesse Ed Davis. Trudell (Santee Sioux) was a spokesperson for the Indian of All Tribes occupation of Alcatraz Island from 1969 to 1971 and worked with the American Indian Movement (AIM), serving as Chairman of AIM from 1973 to 1979.

Party for the PlanetFounded by David Brower, Earth Island Institute is a hub for grassroots campaigns dedicated to conserving, preserving, and restoring the ecosystems on which our civilization depends.
