Join us this afternoon for our Family Open House! This family-friendly edition features free performances and workshops for folks, kids, and folks with kids.
Music fills the Freight we throw open our doors from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm for an amazing array of song circles, storytelling, kid-pleasing performances, and much more! Dancing in the aisles, singing on the stairs, and hijinx in the lobby are sure to ensue as we invite the entire music-making community (including you!) to meet for this daytime extravaganza.
PATCHWORK SERIES ON STAGE
11:00 am – noon Portland, Oregon's Stephen Cohen is a guitarist, songwriter, singer, and visual artist. He has performed at the Philadelphia Folk Festival, the Long Island Children's Museum, and won the songwriting award at the Kerrville Folk Festival in 2000. He released the critically acclaimed children's album Here Comes the Band in 2006. His interactive and participatory concerts are a delight for music lovers of all ages.
1:00 – 2:00 pm The Bug Family Band plays adult-friendly music that gets kids dancing,
laughing, and maybe even thinking. Their live shows feature rockin’
original songs alongside sing-along favorites. The band—formerly known
as Ladybug Picnic—features Joe Balestreri plays guitar, Anna Balestreri
plays glockenspiel, Phil Gorman juggles and plays piano, Easton Jackson
dances, Eric Schoen plays drums, Maddy Streicek plays percussion and
ukulele, and everyone sings! |
