He performed for many years with the Dukes of Dixieland and with the innovative brass band, the New Orleans Nightcrawlers. Tom has recently been seen playing himself on the popular HBO series set in post-Katrina New Orleans, "Treme." Tom has also spent a great deal of time travelling to Cuba, Mexico, and Jamaica in search of musical ties to his adopted city.
