"Emmylou Harris, Iris Dement, Hazel Dickens, and Mike Cross are good starting points for musical comparisons, but Robinson render(s) her performances with little in the way of contrivance or affectation." -Kevin Oliver, Music That Matters
Join Nell Robinson for a very special evening celebrating the release of her second album, On the Brooklyn Road! Tonight's show will recreate the album in it's entirety, including the field recordings of her elderly uncles with stories from the family farm "on the Brooklyn Road," Alabama in the 1930s.
Along with Nell's "country sultry" vocals, a stellar cast of "new and nu grass" musicians will make for an unforgettable evening of roots music, hot pickin,' and sublime three-part harmonies: Jim Nunally, guitar, vocals; John Reischman, mandolin, vocals; Trisha Gagnon, string bass, vocals; Nick Hornbuckle, banjo; Greg Spatz, fiddle; The Henriettas!, Nell and Cary Sheldon's revival of the 1930s DeZurik Sisters deranged, intricate, harmonized yodeling; and other special guests.
