San Francisco Bluegrass & Old-Time Festival knocks another one out of the park! Make sure you check out the Nashville Bluegrass Band, a group of master musicians known both for their consummate talents and unique sound and for their alter egos—the Soggy Bottom Boys from the film O Brother, Where Art Thou?

Forging their own musical path outside the confines of traditional conservatism and eclectic newgrass styles, the Nashville Bluegrass Band has created its own sound, one rooted in the blues, with an acute awareness of gospel and folk traditions. At the heart of the NBB sound is Pat Enright's complex, blues-tinged voice, beautifully matched by banjo player Alan O'Bryant's harmonies. Mandolinist Mike Compton and fiddle ace Stuart Duncan provide the band's essential swing, hard-core and dark at times, nimble and modern at others.

Since forming in 1984, NBB has played far and wide, from the White House to Carnegie Hall. And disguised as the Soggy Bottom Boys, they were an integral part of one of the most significant events in roots music of the past decade, the multi-platinum soundtrack of the film O Brother, Where Art Thou? and the Down From The Mountain tour that followed. They've won two Grammy Awards for best bluegrass album and two Entertainer of the Year nods from the International Bluegrass Music Association, but of course you've just got to hear them live!

Tonight's show is opened by Belle Monroe & Her Brewglass Boys dishing out the fun & sudsy chemistry of their sawdust-flying fiddling, string-shredding mandolin playing, bangin' banjo, and string-slapping acoustic bass.
