Mouths of BabesTy Greenstein of Girlyman fame and Ingrid Elizabeth of Coyote Grace have joined forces in a new duo, Mouths of Babes, to make music that mixes folk and soul, celebration and healing, sob stories and a story of great love. They have a new EP, Faith and Fumes, just about ready for release, and they’re hitting the road to share their music with the world.

In her 12 years with the popular folk-pop quartet Girlyman, Ty established herself as a prolific songwriter, talented multi-instrumentalist, and magnetic performer. “The poignant honesty that Ty brings to her tunes gives them an emotional intensity that’s as bracing as it is moving,” says Relix Magazine. She has a beautiful alto, a great way with words, and a wonderful, clear sound that pierces to the heart.

During her seven years with the sultry roots trio Coyote Grace, Ingrid wrote songs, sang, and played upright bass. On stage, she projects a larger than life sassiness and a dancer’s grace. The Huffington Post praised the band’s “yearning, freight-train-hopping, propulsive energy,” and Amy Ray of the Indigo Girls praised their “textured harmonies” and “heart wrenching melodies.”

“Fly to me!” Ty and Ingrid sing on their new song, “Thing With Feathers,” which makes great use of Emily Dickinson’s wonderful line. Hope is the thing with feathers – and we hope you’ll fly, walk, or use whatever means you like to come on out and see Mouths of Babes at the Freight!

Dave McGraw & Mandy FerPacific Northwest based songwriting duo Dave McGraw and Mandy Fer are natural explorers. Dave spent a decade as a wildlife biologist and naturalist, working everywhere from Mexico and the Grand Canyon to the Pacific coast of Washington State. Mandy logged some time in Spain, where she studied music and local culture. They met in the high desert of Flagstaff, Arizona in 2010 and have since built a music career together based on those travels, funneling everything - the characters they met, the sounds they heard, the stories they lived - into an innovative blend of folk, indie-rock, and rootsy Americana. The duo's rich vocal harmonies coupled with Mandy's pioneering electric guitar work captivate the listener within their dynamic and spirited live performances. Their newest album Maritime was recorded in the San Juan Islands of Washington, and upon release in Europe, charted at #1 on the EuroAmericana Chart for two consecutive months. Maritime will be released in the US on March 3rd.
