"One of the most impressive and well-regarded instrumental bluegrass groups working the circuit," (The Lonesome Road Review), award-winning fiddler Michael Cleveland brings dynamic traditional bluegrass to the Freight stage with his band, Flamekeeper. Mike and the talented Blake Bowen (vocals, bass), Charlie Cushman (vocals, banjo), Ashby Frank (vocals, mandolin), and Charlie Lawson (vocals, guitar) present a program of tight vocal harmonies, blistering instrumentals, and fiddle-and-banjo duets echoing the first-generation stars of bluegrass.

Mike's talent burned bright early on. In 1993 he was chosen to be part of the Bluegrass Youth All Stars and debuted at the Grand Ole Opry as a guest of Alison Krauss. After high school Mike toured with Dale Ann Bradley and Coon Creek before joining Rhonda Vincent and The Rage in 2000.

An eight-time IBMA Fiddle Player of the Year, he and Flamekeeper have also receuved the last four Instrumental Group of the Year accolades.

This promises to be a don't-miss evening of pyrotechnic bluegrass from Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper.
