Dublin-born singer-songwriter Melanie O'Reilly creates a unique sound by fusing two worlds, combining the lyricism of Irish poetry with the improvisation of American jazz. Backed by some very special guests—pianist Frank Martin, Michael O Neill on saxophone, bassist Fred Randolph, guitarist Sean O Nuallain, John Kadyk on clarinet, Anne Goeuss on fiddle, and percussionist Ami Molinelli—Melanie performs award-winning selections from her CDs, plus new originals and songs penned by Frank Martin and another Bay Area jazz pianist, John R. Burr.

Described as "A gorgeous sound....celtic cadence with a jazz sensibility " by the Contra Costa Times, and "spellbinding... uplifting music from a true innovator" by The Rough Guide to Irish Music, Melanie's music blends jazz and bossa nova with the Irish vocal tradition, producing a virtuosic, seamless whole.

Recognized in Downbeat magazine as one of Ireland's foremost international vocalists, Melanie has performed at festivals and venues worldwide, from Lincoln Center Outdoors, the Edinburgh International Festival, and the London-Irish Arts Festival to the National Concert Hall in Dublin and Birdland in New York City. She is also a regular presenter for RTE Radio 1, Ireland's national broadcasting station, with the award-winning show "Jazz on the Bay" and more recently the "Foxrock Folk Club".
