Among the Freight's most popular acts, Marley's Ghost achieves the seemingly impossible with its audacious blend of English folk roots, gospel, country, reggae, R&B, even Scottish bagpipe tunes—and it all works like a dream! Even the members of the band have trouble describing their music, but they all agree that whatever they do, it always comes out sounding uniquely like Marley's Ghost. Their recent CD, Ghost Town, spotlights a tasty array of tunes, but you really need to hear them live to fully appreciate the depths of feeling that go into each Marley's Ghost performance.

A hotbed of multi-instrumental talent that has been playing together for over 22 years, the group features Jon Wilcox's mandolin, guitar and bouzouki, Mike Phelan's guitars, dobro, fiddle, bass and lap steel, Dan Wheetman's guitar, fiddle, bass, banjo, and blues harp, Jerry Fletcher's percussion and keyboards, and Ed Littlefield's guitars, dobro, pedal steel guitar, and Highland bagpipes. They're all great singers, too! This is one show not to be missed.

David Jacobs-Strain, a superb blues/roots rock guitarist and singer-songwriter from the Pacific Northwest, opens tonights show.
