Lucy Kaplansky"A truly gifted performer. . . .with a bag of enchanting songs"
-The New Yorker

Lucy Kaplansky fans who most recently saw her sharing the Freight stage John Gorka and Eliza Gilkyson can rejoice at tonight's opportunity for an undiluted solo evening of this magical singer/songwriter. The imagery and emotion of Lucy's original lyrics combine with the power and texture of her sumptuous voice to create an illuminating evening of songs that work their way deep into the heart. Fusing alternative country, roots rock, and folk music with rare style and intelligence—not to mention a truly charming stage presence—Lucy presents her thoughtful songs about the human condition with warmth and power.

Raised in Chicago, Lucy began her professional life as a clinical psychologist, switching courses over a decade ago to work full-time in music. She has five solo albums, including Ten Year Night, which received the Association for Independent Music Award for Best Pop Album in 1999, and her most recent Over the Hill.

Lucy is joined tonight by uniquitous sidewoman and guitaris extraordinarie, Nina Gerber.
