Three local singer-songwriters take the stage in a benefit show for the PKD Foundation, the only organization worldwide dedicated to fighting polycystic kidney disease through programs of research, advocacy, education, support and awareness in order to discover treatments and a cure for PKD and improve the lives of all it affects.

Luce started out in 2000 as a one-man band, when Tom Luce began writing songs in his bedroom in S.F.'s Richmond District. Later joined by bassist Kevin White, Adam Rossi on keyboards, drummer Brian Zalewski, and guitarist Dylan Brock, Tom has released two CDs, including Luce, the California Music Awards' Outstanding Debut Album for 2003. Luce's tunes have been heard on KFOG, as well as on the soundtracks of numerous movies and television soundtracks.

Songer-songwriter, guitarist, and San Francisco native Jesse Brewster offers songs direct from the heart, full of loss, hope, and reflection. Jesse spent much of his career as a sideman guitarist, before stepping out several years ago as a solo performer with a sound that fuses acoustic rock and rootsy Americana. He has toured up and down the West Coast as well, playing clubs, festivals, and radio spots, and his song, "My Great Escape," has also been in regular rotation on San Francisco's KFOG, and was featured on KFOG's Local Scene, Vol.6 album.

Garrin Benfield's sound has been described as "freestyle acoustic rock." His music is a blend of moody, guitar-driven rock and polyrhythmic grooves, run through the filter of a very serious singer-songwriter. First and foremost a guitar player, Garrin is known for live performances that stretch into improvisational explorations into new territory each night. He has been touring nationally for nearly a decade, playing clubs and music festivals from The High Sierra Music Festival to the Telluride Bluegrass Festival. His CD Nowhere is Brighter was named a "Top 10 CD of 2002" by Acoustic Guitar and Performing Songwriter magazines.
