Lou and Peter were both raised in Appleton, Wisconsin, and began playing music together in high school during the 1960s. Lou studied classical voice and music theory in college while Peter puttered around with surrealist art, beatnik poetry, and jug band music. Their brief marriage in the early 70s resolved into a lifelong friendship, and they’ve been working together as full-time musicians and songwriters for more than 30 years, producing three songbooks and 19 albums, including their most recent, Rocky Frontier.
