Livingston TaylorLivingston Taylor sings songs you want to hear again and again. His reedy tenor has that easy natural charm, and his songs are warm and witty, with an undertow of strong emotion. Starting with his self-titled debut in 1970, he has recorded 17 albums, including his latest, Last Alaska Moon, which the website allmusic.com calls “well crafted and artistically wrought.” The craft runs in the family. His sibs Alex, Kate, Hugh, and James are also singer-songwriters. Whether his musical talent is genetic or not, Livingston knows how to put across a song. In fact, he’s a Professor of Performance at Berklee College of Music, and his book, Stage Performance, has served as a guide for many noted young performers.

Born in Boston, raised in North Carolina, Livingston picked up his first guitar when he was 13 and began his career performing in Boston clubs and coffeehouses. He’s written Top Forty hits like “I Will Be in Love with You” and “I’ll Come Running,” toured with Linda Ronstadt, Jethro Tull, and Fleetwood Mac, and won several songwriting awards and a Boston Music Award for Outstanding Folk/Acoustic Act. Whether he’s singing an introspective original or telling a funny personal story, he has a winning way of connecting with the audience and delivering a deeply satisfying performance.
