What an evening! Come feast your ears on a rich musical smorgasboard ranging from European Gypsy tunes to Great American Songbook gems, as Leftover Dreams and Café Musique split the bill.

Dazzling violin and guitar soloist, and mellifluous vocalist, Tony Marcus is well known to Freight audiences from his ineffably dapper performances with Cats & Jammers and the Cheap Suit Serenaders. His singing partner, the lovely Patrice Haan, has a rich, haunting, and evocative voice. Together, they comprise Leftover Dreams, applying their artful talents to the golden age of American song with respect and unerring good taste, joined for tonight's show by Jeff Sanford on reeds.

They may hail from the central coast of California, but the members of Café Musique have at least one foot each planted deep in foreign soil. Merging of five very different musical backgrounds, the quintet concocts sets of music that range far and wide, from classical to swing music, from gypsy jazz to tango, with a few waltzes thrown in for good measure! Combining the beauty of the violin with the dynamic expression of the accordion, Café Musique adds compelling vocal harmonies to the mix of timeless standards and new compositions. The quintet features Brynn Albanese on violin and vocals, Piper Heisig on percussion and vocals, Duane Inglish on accordion, Fred Murray on bass, and Craig Nuttycombe on guitar and vocals.
