"Kress songs make the ordinary sacred" - Dar Williams

Kress Cole returns to The Freight and Salvage for her album release event, "The Alchemy Show".

Kress is a S.F. based queer songstress who has won 26 WCS awards, including winning "Song of The Year" in both Berkeley and San Rafael. Her new song "Seatbelt" earned her a nomination for WCS 2016's "Lyric of the Year."

True to the classic old-school album release concert format, Kress will perform the album in entirety.

The first line of the first song is about birth, the final line of the last song is about death, and in between, is "The Alchemy Show."

THE SINGING BOIS is a queer retro quartet based in Oakland, California. Part boy band, part Rat Pack, they create spaces for masculine-of-center, non-binary, and POC musicians within new and vintage styles such as R&B, soul, rock, jazz, and Latin genres. Twisting gender expectations, they blend musical precision, playful staging, and sexy swagger. Their high energy shows feature original songs and unique covers of pieces by everyone from Sam Cooke to Selena.

The Singing Bois have been telling queer, butch, and trans stories through music since 2014. They have performed at a variety of Bay Area venues including El Rio, Studio Grand, Galería de la Raza, UC Santa Cruz, SF LGBT Center, The Women's Building, Dyke March, EastSide Arts Alliance, SF Pride Main Stage, Santa Cruz Pride, the Fresh Meat Festival, and the National Queer Arts Festival.
