Don't miss this rare opportunity to spend an evening with the acclaimed world fusion group Open House, which disbanded in 1999, as the members reunite on our stage tonight for some musical fireworks!

An acoustic world music phenomenon, Open House deftly leaps between an assortment of Celtic, American traditional, and eastern European settings, reflecting the diverse backgrounds of its members. Legendary Irish fiddler Kevin Burke slips masterfully amongst jigs, reels, and polkas, while Mark Graham's clarinet adds a decidedly old world quality to the ensemble. Citternist and mandolinist Paul Kotapish contributes distinctive original instrumentals, and unique rhythms and visual excitement are provided by Sandy Silva's blistering percussive dance. Finally, the group's sophisticated repertoire is hilariously complemented by the infectious, tongue-in-cheek songwriting of Mark Graham.

World-renowned Irish fiddle master, Kevin plays in the soulful, fluid, highly ornamented style of County Sligo. Kevin has been a mainstay of seminal Irish supergroups like The Bothy Band, Patrick Street, and Celtic Fiddle Festival, and has toured and recorded with countless artists including Kate Bush, Arlo Guthrie, Paul Brady, and Christy Moore. In 2002, he was awarded the National Heritage Award, America's highest honor in the traditional arts. After discovering the harmonica and southern old-time music, Mark embarked on a musical career that included busking in Seattle and stints with Hurricane Ridgerunners, Orville Johnson, Tim O'Brien, and The Horseflies. A superb multi-instrumentalist, Paul is well known to the roots music world for his virtuosic turns on everything from mandolin to National steel guitar in groups like Hurricane Ridgerunners, Hillbillies from Mars, and Wake the Dead. Sandy draws from the traditions of Celtic step dance, Spanish Flamenco, American tap, Hungarian legenyes, Appalachian buck dance, and modern dance; the result is rich and riveting, full of rhythmic and visual inventiveness.

The Portland based Foghorn Duo, featuring Caleb Klauder and Stephen "Sammy Lind", open the show. They perform traditional American Old Time music, trading off on simple and honest intertwining harmonies, guitar, mandolin, fiddle and banjo.
