Joe PurdyYou may have heard Joe Purdy without knowing it. His poignant songs have been featured on such television shows as Lost, Grey’s Anatomy, and House, and in the movie The Secret Life of Bees. Once you tune into his music, though, you don’t forget it, the crystal clear acoustic guitar, the gentle, heartfelt vocals.

Joe likes to keep it simple: a man, a guitar, and a good song. He’s got plenty of them. He’s released a dozen albums since his debut in 2001 and sold more than a million downloads. The website The Ripple Effect says that his latest album, This American, “captures the soul and mood of a people, teaches lessons about history, love, and honesty, and regales us from the heart.” From the heart is a good way to describe Joe’s music. From his to yours – it’s all about connection.

Brian Wright writes good songs too – “tightly written gems,” according to allmusic.com, “full of sharp turns of phrase, and memorable situations and characters.” Engine 145 praises the staying power of his songs, saying that they “continue to haunt with their transcendent melodies, their cut-to-the-heart lyrics, their wry, canny, and knowing way of evoking despair, sadness, and joy.” Brian grew up in Waco, Texas, played the bar circuit in Austin and Dallas, moved to Los Angeles based on a coin flip, and now lives in Nashville.
