Tonight's concert offers listeners a rare treat—Jill Knight and duo Pam Delgado & Jeri Jones along with Rob Strom reunite on the Freight stage for an evening of rollicking soul and blues. The three forged musical ties in the ’90s when Jill, already a favorite on the California central coast, toured with Pam & Jeri, shortly before the two became founding members of the powerhouse quartet, Blame Sally.

Jill is a Bay Area singer-songwriter with Georgia roots. “Few songwriters seem to have the self-assurance that this singer possesses,” says Dirty Linen in a review praising her “first rate, high quality music.” She “approaches her music with an unadorned intensity, her songs pack an emotional punch rich in the details of everyday experiences.” Performing Songwriter Magazine says “It’s hard to say which is better – the song or the way Jill Knight sings it.” That melding of song and performance is what gives Jill’s music its staying power. She has shared the stage with such artists as John Prine, Shawn Colvin, and Los Lobos, and has released three albums, including Rare October, a live album recorded in France.

Pam and Jeri return to their original duo format, the Pam & Jeri Show, performing everything from mournful ballads to sweet love songs to blazing acoustic soul. Pam plays percussion and guitar, Jeri plays guitar, bass, dobro, and mandolin, and their powerful voices blend beautifully to create a distinct and compelling sound. Their music has earned a spot in the rotation on San Francisco’s KFOG and Starbucks XM Café. Whether they’re covering songs by artists like Aretha Franklin and Rickie Lee Jones or playing their own exciting originals, this is a duo that knows how to put on a thrilling show!
