Join two fantastic student groups from the Jazzschool Institute for an evening of end-of-semester performances! The Latin Jazz Ensemble (directed by John Santos and David Belove) and the Jazzschool Institute Latin Jazz Ensemble (directed by Marcos Silva) present the music of Miles Davis, Adolfo Guzmán, Chico Pinheiro, the ensemble directors, and more!
The Brazilian ensemble is comprised of Christopher Sullivan, tenor sax; Ian Faquini, guitar; Danny Mertens, piano; Tommy O'Mahony, bass; and Aaron Hipschman, drums. The Latin ensemble features Martin Blank, sax; Tristan Norton, guitar; Ruthie Dineen, piano; Andrew Lion, bass; Kevin Coleman, drums; Javier Cabanillas, percussion.
The
Jazzschool Institute offers a conservatory program devoted to the study
and performance of jazz and related styles of music, fostering the
artistic development of aspiring professional jazz musicians and
building new audiences to sustain and promote the jazz art form. The
institute integrates a comprehensive, progressive undergraduate
education program taught by world-class musicians and music educators,
