Jazzschool Institute OrchestraThe Jazz Strings Chamber Ensemble lead by violinist Mads Tolling, focuses on the art of playing jazz and improvisatory mu­sic on violins, violas, cellos and double basses. The Repertoire includes material written and arranged by top composers in the jazz string world including Turtle Island Quartet, Darol Anger, Jean-Luc Ponty, Edgar Meyer and Evan Price. Latin, fiddle music, classical, pop and rock ‘n’ roll genres are also covered. The Jazz Strings Chamber Ensemble features Hande Erdem, violin; Elijah Hoffman, violin; Lucy Southern, violin; Nancy Bien, cello; Rachel Turner Houk, cello; and Colin McCuen, double bass.

Bassist Jeff Denson leads this performance class focusing on the music of the legendary bandleader, composer and bassist Charles Mingus. Tonight's performance features Gael Alcock, cello; Mason Leonardy, trumpet; Patrick Malabuyo, trombone; Simon Linsteadt, guitar; Morgan Maudiere, piano; Colin McCuen, bass; and Dylan Habegger, drums.
